Defenses ruled the day when V-O triumphed over Rockets 2 - 0 at Super rink 3 on Friday. V-O racked up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. V-O added one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. V-O's defense shut down Rockets for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, V-O held on to its lead, and was the winner.

Leading the way to a shutout for V-O, Beth Chaplin blocked seven out of seven shots on goal. Rockets's Kim Erickson had seven saves on nine shots.

Rockets ended the game with a record of 9-8.
