Game Recap: Up North Snipers vs. MN Mean

Game Recap from Thursday, November 18

Thursday's home game versus Up North Snipers ended in a 5-2 loss.

MN Mean's Britny Holloway poked in the first goal of the game at 13:30. Shortly after, Mean's Megan Peterson received a penalty for crosschecking after an accidental collision. Up North Snipers capitalized on the powerplay, Sam Dornfeld scoring at 11:47. Up North Snipers scored one more time at 9:32. MN Mean's Emily Orlaska took a penalty at the 6:52 mark for Too Many Men. Another penalty was issued to Ally Nielson at 3:32 of the period for tripping. The last goal in the first period came off a one timer from Karissa Thomson to Britny Holloway's stick with 0:11 seconds left. 

The second period was back and forth. After several dangerous scoring opportunities from the high slot, Up North Snipers found the back of the net at 7:03. Jillian Hovland beat MN Mean's goaltender Shelby Rasmussen one more time with 0:31 seconds left of the period.

Up North Snipers took the advantage of the third period flow, wearing down MN Mean's short bench. The last tally of the game was buried by Up North Sniper's Lauren Obedle at 3:18. 

MN Mean will have another shot at redemption against the Up North Snipers on February 27, 2022. 

Minnesota Mean's next game is on Monday, November 22, on Augsburg Rink A at 8:30pm where they will face Frozen Stiffs.
