Last Shot back on track

By Last Shot Fan Club 11/03/2015, 7:45pm CST

Alll abbboooardddd!!!

Due to a butt kicking put on Last Shot a week ago, no updates were provided. Neither fans nor players could sit down long enough to write it up. Fresh off a win on Sunday, the news feed is back in action to fill you in.

Last Shot fell for the first time this year to a team that surely had magnets in their sticks. Slick passing and shots that didn't miss did the trick.

Refocused and ready to roll, the Shooters took the ice Sunday against a team that truly lives up to their name. However, Bowling Balls is an alternative if they are ever looking for a change. Players flew down the ice and knocked over Last Shot players like bowling pins throughout the game. When asked how she made it through, Lieb said "Well bubble wrap, obviously!" Good thing #20 came prepared as she had a target on her back, legs, ribcage and kidney throughout the game. Sharon Swanson AKA OOOOOOOHs made her season debut as a Shooter tallying over a dozen shots on goal. Though it was the WAbs's 3rd game of the night, they both held strong and were only seen napping on the bench twice. Don't tell that to Brenda A or Sam who both counted a goal and assist in the game, satisfying the season ticket holders in the stands. Chants of "SAMI, SAMI, SAMI" were heard late in the 2nd period. After teasing the Wreck with almost letting their first shot on goal sneak in...Fogerty was lights out the entire game. That's 3 shutouts for the tender on the season and a W against a team that really was....a TrainWreck.

Though thick and thin Last Shot brings home the win.

Warriors close down highway 100 to try and prevent players from making it to the rink, alas, all made it and pull out the win.

It was tense in the locker room 6 minutes to game time when, defensive superstar and eagle eye, Anne Muns looked around, counted twice and said "Hey, where's the goalie?" Turns out the warriors must have shut down highway 100 to try and prevent Andrea "brick wall" Fogerty from getting to the rink. Warrior fans were seen waving flags on the detour route further adding to the suspicion. However, everyone made it on to the ice just in time and from then on it was all Last Shot. Chris Deger brought her fancy feet to the game and nothing was getting by them. "I wore my size 10 skates and that made all the difference" said Deger (pronounced Day-ger). In the end Last Shot may have been locked out, but it was the Warriors who were shut out. Last Shot is back in action tonight at Pleasant for what is sure to be a sell out crowd.

Last Shot wins big in Maple Grove

Friday nights are not just for high schoolers anymore. Last Shot treats night owls to a gem.

Last Shot puts the rumors to rest and takes home their first win of the season. Though gas masks were worn, due to the stink in the rink, once the team made it to the locker room it was down to business. Coach Mike had a pop quiz that we aced in the locker room, but may have failed at on the ice....we'll work on that. Fogery, who still holds the leading goaltender postion for the Shooters, channeled her inner Jim Craig to shut out the ponies.  Katie Bishop, a verteran for the shooters, sealed the game by sliding the puck by the tender.  During her post game interview she was asked how she did it she said "Well after I remembered we weren't playing soccer and stopped kicking the puck, it was easy.  I just put it by her." Though Bishop may have thought it was soccer, the ponies must have thought it was karate. The slash heard round the world was put on the Lieb at center for no apparent reason besides the confusion of the sport being played. And of course because she kicks ass.

Congrats Last Shot on the big Double U!
