Nutcrackers Season Preview in a "Nutshell"

Season Upcoming for Wham's A1 Beloved Squad

Well, it's that time of year again. Wham hockey season is right around the corner and with it comes the annual Nutcracker season preview.

As the Nutties continue to age, we continue to see some defer to pregnancy reserve including Jenny "the Posh" Pusch (she refused her husband's last name, bless her soul) and sleeper on the baby front, Lisa Desmond (Sablak).

But pregnancy won't stop these ladies from attacking the other aging teams in the A1 division. The only thing that could stop them is forfeiting due to bandy practice being scheduled at the same time as a game- curse those pesky bandits!

In this upcoming season, Crackers will lose a few D to moving out of town but rest-assured, The Haak will return with her snarky attitude and gut busting comments from the bench. Said Haak "I'm ready to get back on the ice. Summer has been full of bike rides and patio drinking and I'm more than ready to shut down those overly fancy hand A1 forwards and pick some fights in the icy Augsburg parking lot"

Kacy Ambroz will be back in action after a year coaching hiatus in Boston. Fans are thrilled with her return given her speediness and the Nutties will look to her to go the length of the ice when the rest of them can barely get from the goalline to home blue line in the same amount of time.

Goalie Rosequist said she is questionable on the schedule due to a new job and having to be on the travel train across the country consulting with farmers. Player coach Doig commented on the situation, "All I know is if there are games she can't play, she sure as hell better make sure she gets a sub. We won't have none of this 6 skaters business. I can't continue to throw forward Mollie Carroll in the net when a goalie doesn't show!"

Nutcrackers will have a few new squad members, Sheryl, Leah and Holly- don't remember any of their last names, but all promise to be a good addition and will hopefully lower the average age of the team.

Nutcrackers open Oct. 21 vs the Falcons. Fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes to any and all games and also bring a case of Whiteclaw (watching our gluten intake) to share with Nutties in the parking lot post-match.
