Both defenses were solid, but Wildcats beat Northland Thunder 2 - 1 at Wessman on Friday. Northland Thunder racked up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Wildcats took over the lead in the second period with two unanswered goals. It would prove to be too much for Northland Thunder. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Wildcats protected its lead, and was the winner.

Kassiann Keister and Leah Hiniker each added one goal for Wildcats. Gubernot and Rothchild each contributed one assist for Wildcats.

Ira Salmela netted one goal for Northland Thunder and also had one point.

In the crease, Wildcats's Brittany Daniels had zero saves on one shots on goal. In goal, Northland Thunder's Paula Tomlinson had no saves on two shots on goal.

Northland Thunder finished the game with a record of 12-14.
