Whammies Scoreless Against Cluster Puck 7-0

Kassie Nelson nets a hat trick while Cluster Puck relies on defense to win and shut down the other side on the road

In a shutout, Cluster Puck got the better of Whammies 7 - zip at Augsburg on Sunday. Cluster Puck scored four unanswered goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Cluster Puck held on to its lead. Whammies were not able to answer back. In the final period Cluster Puck scored three goals improving its score and winning the game.

Having a huge impact in the game for Cluster Puck, Kassie Nelson netted the hat trick with three goals and also had one point. Coming through for Cluster Puck, Nelson scored an unassisted goal in the first period. During the first period, Nelson put the biscuit into the net for a power play goal with an assist from Jackie Lehmann. During the third period, Nelson lit the lamp without assistance from team mates. Emily Evans, Valerie Guse, Sarah Cash, and Paola Teran each added one goal for Cluster Puck.

Displaying a golden glove, Cluster Puck's Amy Jones had 14 saves. Whammies's Kari Menzia had just 13 saves on 20 shots.

Whammies finished the game with a record of 1-14.
