Valerie Guse fires two goals as Cluster Puck shines on defense to get the shutout win on the road

In a shutout game, Cluster Puck triumphed over Blue J's II 5 - zero at Augsburg A on Sunday. Cluster Puck tallied up two goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Cluster Puck added three straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Cluster Puck's defense shut down Blue J's II for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Cluster Puck conserved its lead, and was the winner.

Cluster Puck's Valerie Guse scored two goals for Cluster Puck. During the first period, Guse lit the lamp with an assist from Kassie Nelson. Cluster Puck found more success on the ice when Guse put the biscuit into the net in the second period with an assist from Emily Evans. Kassie Nelson, Kallie Samuelson, and Heather McCreight each tallied one goal for Cluster Puck.

Racking up saves in the box, Cluster Puck's Amy Jones stopped seven out of seven shots. Blue J's II's Kyle Rizner had just 29 saves on 34 shots.

Cluster Puck extended their winning streak to four games and ended up with a record of 22 wins and 1 loss. Blue J's II finished the game with a record of 7-16.
