Fighting Squirrels Beats Out Glory Days 7-3

Maria Stoa is key with two goals while Fighting Squirrels out defends to get the win

Fighting Squirrels finished off Glory Days 7 - 3 at Highland Arena - South Rink on Sunday. Fighting Squirrels outscored Glory Days four to two to take the lead at the end of the first period. Fighting Squirrels gained one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. In the final period, Fighting Squirrels outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead to win the game.

Fighting Squirrels's Maria Stoa got two goals for Fighting Squirrels and also had one assist. Making it happen on the ice for Fighting Squirrels, Stoa put the biscuit over the goal line in the first period with an assist from Sydney O Keefe. During the first period, Stoa put the puck in the net with an assist from Kathleen Anderson. Fighting Squirrels's Sydney O Keefe made two goals for Fighting Squirrels and also had one assist. Fighting Squirrels's O Keefe put the puck in the net in the first period with an assist from Alexandra Meyer. This put Fighting Squirrels ahead for good. During the third period, O Keefe put the puck between the pipes for a shorthanded goal with an assist from Kelsey Abrahamson. Alexandra Meyer, Kelsey Abrahamson, and Calli Brennan each tallied one goal for Fighting Squirrels.

Fighting Squirrels's Melissa Goski finished with 27 saves. Glory Days's Nicole Muske had only 14 saves on 20 shots on goal.

Fighting Squirrels added to their current win streak of six games and now has a record of 14-11. Glory Days ended the game with a record of 10-12.
