In a close game, Thunderbirds prevailed against Rockets 4 - 2 at Buffalo Civic Center-New on Friday. Thunderbirds scored three unanswered goals to take the lead in the first period. Rockets failed to take the lead in the second period even though they scored two straight goals. Thunderbirds never looked back. In the final period Thunderbirds scored one goal cementing the lead and winning the game.

Having an impact in the game, Dana Lindholm scored two goals for Thunderbirds. Judy Rixe and Terri Malachek each contributed one goal for Thunderbirds. Avery and Huisinga each tallied one assist for Thunderbirds.

Vicki Denzer and Kerri Kimm each contributed one goal for Rockets.

Thunderbirds's Darla Hengel stopped 14 out of 16 shots.

Rockets ended the game with a record of 10 wins and 11 losses.
