Marshals Defeats Riveters 2-1

Sabrina Radke connects for a goal while Marshals puts the squeeze on shooters to prevail

Defenses slugged it out, but Marshals overcame Riveters 2 - 1 at Augsburg B on Wednesday. Marshals scored one goal to take the lead in the first period. Both teams added one goal in the second period but Marshals maintained their lead for the win. Marshals never looked back. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Marshals conserved its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Marshals made it happen on the ice when Sabrina Radke got a goal with an assist from Kelli Schlittler, with 11:53 left on the clock. Marshals led for the rest of the game. In the second period, Marshals fired up their game when Kelli Schlittler got the unassisted goal with 16:14 left on the clock, to get further in the lead. Pushing back, Riveters's Jenna Bluhm scored a goal with 14:35 left in the period. Rebecca MacRostie and Allison Lorbiecki assisted on the goal.

Kelli Schlittler netted one goal for Marshals and also had one helper. Sabrina Radke added one goal for Marshals.

Jenna Bluhm contributed one goal for Riveters.

Racking up saves in the box, Marshals's jill nordstrom had 26 saves on 27 shots. Riveters's Dauphine Waataja blocked 16 out of 18 shots on goal.

Marshals added to their current win streak of three games and now has a record of 18-4. Riveters ended the game with a record of 14 wins and 13 losses.
