Shutting out their opponents, Lightning II beat Icy Hot 5 - zip at Brooklyn Park #2 on Tuesday. Lightning II scored two goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Lightning II added three straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Lightning II's defense shut down Icy Hot for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Lightning II protected its lead, and was the winner.

Sara Vogt, Angela Pedalty, Carol Flachmeyer, Sarah Beck, and Anne Steiner each added one goal for Lightning II.

Leading the way to a shutout for Lightning II, Regina Magstadt had 11 saves. Icy Hot's Anne Hatinen had just 30 saves on 35 shots.

Icy Hot finished the game with a record of 7-17.
