Jessica Barnes fires two goals as Mustangs effective on defense to achieve victory on the road

Mustangs got the better of Kodiaks 4 - 1 at Pleasant on Sunday. Mustangs and Kodiaks both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Mustangs took the lead in the second period with one goal. The Mustangs defense took over in the final period. In the final period Mustangs scored two consecutive goals improving its score and winning the game.

Showing off a strong stick, Jessica Barnes made two goals for Mustangs and also had one point. Mary Sholl netted one goal for Mustangs as well as two helpers. Babette Hetzler tallied one goal for Mustangs. Ritzer and Kay Unitan each contributed one assist for Mustangs.

Christy Bipes contributed one goal for Kodiaks.

Showing a super performance, Mustangs's Meryl McGauvran blocked 18 out of 19 shots on goal. Kodiaks's Noelle Strom stopped 29 out of 33 shots.

Mustangs ended their streak of two losing games and now has a record of 8-11. Kodiaks finished the game with a record of 7-15.
