Winning by a large margin, Northern Stars got the better of Macalester 11 - 3 at Highland Ice Arena (North) on Saturday. Northern Stars chalked up five straight goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Northern Stars gained five straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. In the third period Macalester outscored their opponents however Northern Stars kept its lead, and won the game.

Turning in a great performance for Northern Stars, Bonnie Shea made the hat trick with four goals in addition to two points. Northern Stars's Pamela Wutz netted two goals for Northern Stars. Karen Bastianelli added one goal for Northern Stars.

Northern Stars's Amanda Reed had 18 saves. Macalester's Sarah Birkholz had only 30 saves on 41 shots on goal.

Macalester finished the game with a record of 1-17.
