Mystics Beats Synergy 2-1

Abby Eckstein slaps a goal and Mystics makes forwards' life difficult to achieve victory

Defenses slugged it out, but Mystics prevailed over Synergy 2 - 1 at Richfield 2 on Saturday. Synergy scored one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Synergy retained its lead. Synergy was on top one to zero, however this too would pass. Mystics rallied in the final period with two goals, to grab the win.

In the first period, Synergy got things going when Julie Jorissen put the biscuit over the goal line with an assist from Lisa Sneen, with 8:30 left in the period. In the third period, Mystics answered back when Linnea Loren lit the lamp with assists from Ann Howell and jennifer nienaber, with 10:12 left on the clock, tying things up at 1 apiece. Mystics fired up their game when Abby Eckstein put the biscuit over the goal line with 6:00 left on the clock. Rebecca Clotts and jennifer nienaber got the assists on the goal, to move ahead and win.

Abby Eckstein and Linnea Loren each tallied one goal for Mystics. Jennifer nienaber got two points. Clotts and Howell each added one assist for Mystics.

Julie Jorissen added one goal for Synergy.

Having a huge impact in the game, Mystics's michele van vranken made 13 saves. Synergy's Michelle McCoy stopped 15 shots.

Mystics ended the game with a record of 10-10. Synergy ended the game with a record of 19-4.
