Kassie Nelson knocks two goals as Cluster Puck looks to the defense to win and prevent opponents from scoring

Shutting out the competition, Cluster Puck beat Wildcats 3 - zero at Augsburg A on Saturday. Cluster Puck chalked up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Cluster Puck added two goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Cluster Puck's defense shut down Wildcats for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Cluster Puck held on to its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Cluster Puck got things going when Kassie Nelson got the puck in the goal with 2:16 left in the period. Heather McCreight and Emily Evans assisted on the goal. This solidified the win for Cluster Puck. In the second period, rolling on, Cluster Puck's Valerie Guse got a goal with assists from Emily Evans and Nicole Treichel, with 9:31 left in the period, going further ahead. Keeping up the pressure, Kassie Nelson got a goal with an assist from Heather McCreight with 4:47 left on the clock, to move further ahead.

Having an impact in the game, Kassie Nelson netted two goals for Cluster Puck. Valerie Guse contributed one goal for Cluster Puck. Heather McCreight earned two points. Emily Evans had two points. Treichel added one assist for Cluster Puck.

Turning in a perfect performance, Cluster Puck's Amy Jones stopped 18 shots. Wildcats's Brittany Daniels blocked 19 out of 22 shots on goal.

Cluster Puck ended up with a record of 20-1. Wildcats finished the game with a record of 8-13.
