Jocelyn Kleiber nails a goal as Fighting Squirrels looks to the defense to prevail

In a low scoring game, Fighting Squirrels was superior against Storm 2 - zip at Highland Arena - North Rink on Sunday. Fighting Squirrels chalked up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Fighting Squirrels gained one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. Storm's fate was sealed. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Fighting Squirrels held on to its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Fighting Squirrels made it happen on the ice when Kelsey Abrahamson netted a goal with 7:27 left on the clock. Megan Boehmer assisted on the goal. This put Fighting Squirrels out in front for good. In the second period, pounding the defense, Jocelyn Kleiber put the puck in the net with 9:39 left on the clock. Kelsey Abrahamson assisted on the goal, to get further in the lead.

Showing off a strong glove, Fighting Squirrels's Melissa Goski had 21 saves on 21 shots. Storm's Renee Brasuhn had 15 saves on 17 shots.

Fighting Squirrels added to their current win streak of three games and now has a record of 11 wins and 11 losses. Storm ended the game with a record of 8-10.
