Jennifer Lenhart shoots two goals, Renegades allows few shots to achieve victory

Renegades prevailed over Shooting Stars 4 - 1 at Augsburg A on Friday. Renegades outscored Shooting Stars two to one to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. Renegades added one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. Renegades never looked back. In the final period Renegades scored one goal improving its score and winning the game.

In the first period, Renegades's Jennifer Lenhart put the puck in the net with assists from Denise Lien and Diane Smith, with 10:28 left on the clock. Pushing back, Shooting Stars's Adeline Johnson lit the lamp without assistance with 4:38 left in the period, evening the score at 1 apiece. Renegades had other ideas when Denise Lien got the puck in the goal with 2:27 left on the clock. Jennifer Lenhart and Carrie Peterson assisted on the goal, to take the lead at 2-1. Shooting Stars could not overcome this deficit. In the second period, Renegades pierced the defense when Jennifer Lenhart put the biscuit over the goal line with 14:44 left in the period. Donna Luttrell and Carrie Peterson assisted on the goal, pulling further ahead. In the third period, adding another score for Renegades, Missy Boyd put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance with 2:27 left in the period, to get further ahead.

Displaying offensive skills, Jennifer Lenhart scored two goals for Renegades and also had one point. Denise Lien made one goal for Renegades and also had one helper. Missy Boyd added one goal for Renegades. Carrie Peterson had two points. Luttrell and Smith each contributed one assist for Renegades.

Adeline Johnson tallied one goal for Shooting Stars.

Displaying a golden glove, Renegades's Jan Mohrfeld made 31 saves. Shooting Stars's Katie Caskey stopped 12 shots.

Renegades extended their winning streak to three games and ended up with a record of 17-5. Shooting Stars finished the game with a record of 6 wins and 15 losses.
