Kate Hohag rips a goal and Marshals puts the squeeze on shooters to narrowly win on the road

Kate Hohag netted the game-winning goal with 1:45 left in the third period, as Marshals overcame Wildcats 3 - 1 at Augsburg A on Friday. Neither team managed to put points on the board in the first period. Both defenses held strong to shut down scoring in the second period. In the third period, with defenses wearing down, Marshals outscored their opponents by two goals and took the lead to claim the late win.

In the third period, things got going when Marshals's Denise Alto got a goal with an assist from kelly duffy, with 11:35 left in the period. Not standing down, Wildcats's abigail hayes netted an unassisted goal with 2:50 left in the period, to bring the game to a tie. Marshals answered back when Kate Hohag scored a goal with 1:45 left in the period. Sabrina Radke got the assist on the goal, to go ahead. This put Marshals ahead for good. Marshals kept going when Kelli Schlittler lit the lamp without assistance from team mates with 0:15 left in the period, to pull further ahead.

Kate Hohag, Kelli Schlittler, and Denise Alto each tallied one goal for Marshals. Radke and duffy each added one assist for Marshals.

Abigail hayes added one goal for Wildcats.

Leading the way for Marshals, jill nordstrom blocked 33 out of 34 shots on goal. Wildcats's Brittany Daniels stopped 20 shots.

Wildcats finished the game with a record of 8-12.
