Defenses ruled the day when Goal Diggers won against Galaxy 2 - 0 at Richfield Ice Arena 2 on Sunday. Neither team managed to score in the first period. Goal Diggers took the lead in the second period with two unanswered goals. The Goal Diggers defense took over in the final period. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Goal Diggers conserved its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Goal Diggers's Teresa Swartz got the puck in the goal with an assist from Jeri Menssen, with 10:48 left on the clock. Goal Diggers never looked back. Next, Tracy Johnson put the puck between the pipes with 2:42 left on the clock. Natalie Harris got the assist on the goal, to go further ahead.

Galaxy finished the game with a record of 11-8.
