Defenses ruled the day when Hinotes Heroes beat Blue J's II 1 - zero at Augsburg A on Wednesday. Hinotes Heroes scored one goal to take the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Hinotes Heroes retained its lead. It would prove to be too much for Blue J's II. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Hinotes Heroes protected its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, things got going when Hinotes Heroes's Tomma Freundschuh lit the lamp with 10:25 left on the clock. Susan Sajevic assisted on the goal.

Racking up saves in the box, Hinotes Heroes's Pilar Gibson stopped 14 out of 14 shots. Despite a super performance, Blue J's II's Kayla Helmberger stopped 27 out of 28 shots.

Hinotes Heroes extended their winning streak to three games and now has a record of 14-7. Blue J's II finished the game with a record of 6-12.
