Both defenses were solid, but Blast overcame Lightning II 2 - 1 at White Bear Lake on Wednesday. Blast and Lightning II both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Blast took the lead in the second period with one goal. The Blast defense took over in the final period. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Blast protected its lead, and was the winner.

Displaying offensive skills, Kate Hall made two goals for Blast. Farrell, Wincek, and malnati each contributed one assist for Blast.

Sarah Beck added one goal for Lightning II.

Showing a super performance, Blast's Sara Hudoba had 19 saves. Despite having a great day, Lightning II's Regina Magstadt turned away 22 shots.

Blast extended their winning streak to five games and ended up with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses. Lightning II finished the game with a record of 5 wins and 11 losses.
