In a defensive battle, Blast handed a loss to Cougars 2 - 1 at Oscar Johnson on Sunday. Neither team got the puck past the goalie in the first period. Blast took the lead in the second period with one unanswered goal. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but Blast kept the lead for the win.

Kate Hall got one goal for Blast and also had one point. Katie Eggleston contributed one goal for Blast. Mooney and malnati each contributed one assist for Blast.

Elyse Wood added one goal for Cougars.

Having a standout day, Blast's Julie Brandt stopped 19 out of 20 shots. Showing off a strong glove, Cougars's Sue Olson had 22 saves on 24 shots.

Blast added to their current win streak of three games and now has a record of 11-4. Cougars finished the game with a record of 8 wins and 11 losses.
