In a hard fought match up, Ice Pirates beat Hot Tamales 3 - 1 at Richfield - Rink 1 on Sunday. Ice Pirates chalked up two straight goals to take the lead in the first period. Both teams chalked up one goal in the second period but Ice Pirates kept the lead for the win. Ice Pirates's defense shut down Hot Tamales for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Ice Pirates held on to its lead, and was the winner.

Mey Chau got one goal for Ice Pirates and also had one point. Lulu Kwan scored one goal for Ice Pirates and also had one assist. Grzeskowiak, Miller, and Berchem each tallied one assist for Ice Pirates.

Ice Pirates ended their losing streak of three games and ended the game with a record of 4-8. Hot Tamales ended the game with a record of 8-6.
