Defenses ruled the day when Blast defeated Top Shelf 1 - zip at Hopkins on Saturday. Blast chalked up one goal to take the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Blast held on to its lead. Top Shelf's fate was sealed. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Blast held on to its lead, and was the winner.

Leading the way to a shutout for Blast, Anne Woll blocked 20 out of 20 shots on goal. Despite having a great day, Top Shelf's Beth Chaplin had 13 saves on 14 shots.

Blast added to their current win streak of two games and now has a record of 10 wins and 4 losses. Top Shelf ended the game with a record of 9 wins and 10 losses.
