Both defenses battled it out, but Hot Tamales overcame Voyageurs 1 - zero at Richfield - Rink 1 on Sunday. Neither team managed to get the puck in the net in the first period. Hot Tamales added one goal in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. It would prove to be too much for Voyageurs. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Hot Tamales protected its lead, and was the winner.

In the second period, Hot Tamales's Shannon Plourde got a goal with 4:20 left on the clock. Chris Bartlett got the assist on the goal.

Turning in a perfect performance, Hot Tamales's Kris Duryea had eight saves on eight shots. Showing off a strong glove, Voyageurs's Annette Germann stopped 18 out of 19 shots.

Voyageurs ended the game with a record of 6-4.
