Maggie Donahue leads the way with a hat trick while Northland Thunder allows few shots to win by a wide margin

Leaving their opponents in the dust, Northland Thunder beat Flyers 9 - 1 at Blaine super rink 1 on Friday. Northland Thunder outscored Flyers three to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. Northland Thunder gained three goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Northland Thunder never looked back. In the final period Northland Thunder scored three goals adding to their overall lead and winning the game.

Having an outstanding day for Northland Thunder, Maggie Donahue got the hat trick with three goals. Northland Thunder's Tara Tyykila scored two goals for Northland Thunder. Brianna Gladden, Molly Erjavec, Janelle Ide, and Abby Sweiger each tallied one goal for Northland Thunder.

Having a standout day, Northland Thunder's Paula Tomlinson had 16 saves.

Northland Thunder ended their streak of two losing games and now has a record of 9-9. Flyers ended the game with a record of 2 wins and 13 losses.
