Breakaways Wins Against Black-Eyed Pucks 2-1

Shelly Owen on fire with a goal while Breakaways clamps down to get a win

In a low scoring game, Breakaways defeated Black-Eyed Pucks 2 - 1 at NE Minneapolis on Sunday. Neither team got the puck past the goalie in the first period. Breakaways added two goals in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. Black-Eyed Pucks scored one goal in the third period but it was not enough to close the gap, so they lost the game.

Shelly Owen and Kimberly Mikaliunas each tallied one goal for Breakaways. Lori Kretzmann had two assists.

Pamela Ford tallied one goal for Black-Eyed Pucks.

Leading the way for Breakaways, Susan Hamilton stopped 20 out of 21 shots. Black-Eyed Pucks's Teresa Tangeman turned away 16 shots.

Black-Eyed Pucks ended the game with a record of 0-15.
