Both defenses battled it out, but Hot Shots handed a loss to Ice Pirates 1 - zip at Parade Ice Garden South on Sunday. Hot Shots racked up one goal to take the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Hot Shots maintained its lead. Hot Shots never looked back. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Hot Shots conserved its lead, and was the winner.

Leading the way to a shutout for Hot Shots, Kris Lindsoe stopped 14 shots. Ice Pirates's Althea Lentsch turned away seven shots.

Hot Shots ended the game with a record of 8-2. Ice Pirates ended the game with a record of 3-7.
