Please join us on Rink 5 prior to the start of games on Championship Sunday to congratulate this year's inductees into the WHAM Hall of Fame.

Judy Jungwirth – Judy has been an active supporter of girl’s and women’s hockey since 1975. She conducted clinics for beginning players from 1980 - 1992 as well as coached for a few years in the 1990's at the high school level for Bloomington Jefferson/Kennedy. Judy is also an active member of the power play club at the U of M supporting the sport at a collegiate level. She is an organizer of many off season leagues and clinics for women throughout the Twin Cities. Currently, Judy stays busy working with a home school program for 6-13 year olds, and plays for the B2 MCM. Judy is currently serving as WHAM’s B2 commissioner.

Patt Ligman – Patt has been an active supporter of girl’s and women’s hockey for years. In 1975, she helped start the UW-River Falls women’s club. She has served as WHAM president twice, as a division commissioner, and as the Women’s Representative on the MN Hockey Board of Directors. She has coached dozens of goalies over the years in WHAM, high school, and at the college level. As a goalie for more than 20 years in the MWHL, MGWHA, WHAM, and various men’s teams, Patt has contributed her talents for the sport both on and off the ice.

The 2010 WHAM State Tournament will be held at Schwan's Super Rink, March  18-21 (Thurs.-Sun.)

This year the tournament will be held on Rinks 5-8 and each Division (A2-C3) will send the top 4 teams to play a round robin format. Starting on Thursday evening each team will compete in one game a day playing a total of 3 games through Saturday (one against every team in their bracket) to decide Sunday's placement games.

All teams will be guaranteed a total of 4 games this year. At the conclusion of league play those teams advancing to the State Tournament will be notified by the league along with their seed for the tournament.

Thursday's games will consist of Seed #1 vs. #4 and #2 vs. #3.
Friday's games will consist of #1 vs. #3 and #2 vs. #4
Saturday's games will consist of #1 vs. #2 and #3 vs. #4.

Sunday's games will be for Championship and Consolation. This year WHAM will again be holding a Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony on Rink 5 prior to the start of games on Sunday.

Play will follow normal league game format. All games will be played with 2 periods of 17 min. each running time and third period 12 minute stop time. No overtime will be played during the round robin and games will be played to completion. Complete rules for the tournament will be provided in team packets after the conclusion of the season.

Cost per team this year will be $563 for every Division.  Teams need to make their payment to WHAM or or before March 17, 2010.  If the team is mailing the payment, please mail the payment to the WHAM address: 3624 Rhode Island Ave So, Saint Louis Park, MN 55426.  All payments via mail must be received by March 17, 2010.

On-line volunteer hours will be available to those teams who qualify first with the remainder of hours open to the general population beginning Wednesday, March 10th. Teams advancing will be required to work a minimum of 8 hrs(credits) during the tournament.  To volunteer simply click on the following link or click on the DIBS tab above.
