WHAM will be hosting ON ICE assessments for the upcoming winter season.

WHAM will plan to host assessments: mid August, mid September,  October, and a last session in December. Register early!!!

Registration closes 36 hours prior to assessment date. Please plan accordingly. NO WALK UPS WILL BE ALLOWED. All players must be registered to participate.

Dates

You MUST pre-register online under at least 36 hours prior to your assessment.

August - Wednesday, August 9th at 8:00pm - Augsburg Arena Rink 

September - Thursday, September 7th at 7:00pm - Bloomington Ice Gardens #3

October - Sunday, October 1st at 7:10pm - Braemar Areana South Rink 

Full equipment is required for assessments. Assessments consist of one ice skating drills, stick handling, shooting, and a short scrimmage style play at the end.

NEW TO HOCKEY - if you are brand new to hockey without any prior skating or hockey experience, please scroll to the bottom of this page for the C3 application - you may not need to attend an on ice session if application is received and confirmed.

Although you are new to WHAM, you may not need to attend one of the assessments to join the league. Based on your previous experience, you may qualify automatically to join a team within a respective division. Please see below for automatic qualification outlines:

**College Club or U19b experience must assess.

New players to the organization without prior hockey/skating experience

If you are new to WHAM and have no prior hockey or extensive skating experience and are hoping to join the league at the C2 or C3 division, please contact leagueadmin@whamhockey.org. A formal assessment may not be necessary. If you participated in the 2023 Hockey 101 clinic, you do not need to register for an additional assessment and are eligible to register for C3 unless otherwise told by the development director. The application to join at the C3 division without an assessment for true new hockey players is below - scroll toward bottom of this page.

New players to the Organization with prior hockey experience

Register based on highest level of hockey experience according to the list below. For example, a player with both varsity high school and Division 3 collegiate experience must register with the division of her highest experience, which is D3 experience.

(NOTE: New Players may appeal to play at a lower division by attending a WHAM-sponsored skills assessment.)
